The Dining Commons is pleased to welcome you to Sacramento State. Our goal is to provide you with quality food in a clean and pleasant atmosphere. Features of the meal plans are a result of working closely with the diverse needs of our students.
Quality. . . We care about your health, so menus, recipes, production, and service reflect our concern.
Flexibility. . . Students need flexibility. The meal credit feature of our plan allows a custom fit for the unique needs of each student. Our staff is flexible too we welcome the chance to serve those with special diet needs or to meet unusual situations.
Variety. . . The Dining Commons’ “All You Care to Eat” food and service program, offers "to- order" selections from the grill, an expanded soup and deli station, and a carved-to-order meat selection at dinner. Daily specials are prepared by our chefs such as display cooking featuring stir fry, authentic Asian wok cooking, and Italian pastas and sauces. Have an early class? We offer coffee to go.
Value. . . Value is more than price. With the cost of food today, where else can you buy lunch and dinner every day for $13.63 per day ($10.78 per day if you use Plan B)? That’s a great deal! It’s value that goes with quality, variety, and care that is part of each meal.

| MEAL DESCRIPTIONS AND PAY PER MEAL COSTS |
HOT AND HEARTY BREAKFAST
Offering an assortment of fresh and canned fruits, fruit juices, assorted cereals, and eggs cooked to order; along with a breakfast buffet featuring an egg dish, breakfast meat, and breakfast potatoes. Also available are assorted pastries, breads, condiments, and assorted beverages.
LUNCH
Offering daily grilled-to-order selections such as cheeseburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, and garden burgers. Also featured are salad bar, soup and deli bar, nacho bar, pizza, and pasta bar.
DINNER
A daily specialty bar features Asian, Italian, and other popular food selections. Also offered are salad, soup, carved entrees, pizza, tacos, and more.
WEEKEND BRUNCH
Brunch The best of breakfast and lunch! Offering the breakfast buffet, omelets cooked-to-order, luncheon entrees, assorted pastries and luncheon desserts, salad and soup bar, and beverages. |

DC STORE NEXT DOOR: Sunday through Thursday 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Choose from a variety of snack foods at our own nearby convenience store.
BOX LUNCHES: Box lunches are available when you cannot make it to a regular meal. Advance notice of 24 hours is required. See the cashier or a supervisor to place your request.
FLOOR DINNERS, PARTIES, BBQs: The DC offers a variety of special dinners and party options. Watch for advertisements or ask your Resident Advisor for details.
SPECIAL SERVICE: Special (medical) diets can be arranged. Please consult the Dining Commons staff. Vegetarian options are featured on the regular menu.
TO-GO TRAY:
To-Go trays are available to carry food back to the halls when you are ill. Please see your RA.

The plan for average appetites!
Average of 10 meals per week.
Provides 1,260 meal credits. COST: $2,972 for the school year.

The plan for BIG appetites!
Average of 15 meals per week.
Provides 1,890 meal credits. COST: $3,388 for the school year.

Meal plans may not be shared between students.

Additional Meal Credits
You do not need to anticipate your dining needs for the entire year. If you find that you are running low on meal credits, you may purchase* additional credits from the DC Meal Card Office.
 25 credits: $50
 65 credits: $110
 90 credits: $148
 150 credit: $226
*Extra meal credits are available only if you have a Dining Commons contract for the current semester. You may purchase as many credits as you think you can use, but please remember that University Enterprises, Inc. cannot buy back unused meal credits and that those meal credits are good only during the semester in which they were issued. No credits will be valid after the close of the Spring semester.
DC Flex Dollars
More Flexibility, More Value! Choose a meal plan that includesconvient DC Flex Dollars and use your mealcard on Campus at Burger King, Hula's Bar and Grill, Round Table Pizza, Togo's, and University Center Restaurant. Flex dollars expire at the end of the school year.
Meal Card Office
You may purchase vouchers, report lost or stolen meal cards, or make any other inquiry regarding the board plan at the Meal Card Office. The office is open Monday through Friday. It is located in the back hallway of the dining facility next to the entrance into the service line.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need a DC card in order to eat at the Dining Commons?
Yes, certainly. You must show your DC card to the cashier every time you come to eat at the Dining Commons.
What if I lose my card?
Just go to the meal card office to purchase a new one for $10 or 10 points.
Can I transfer my meal points to my guest points on my card?
No. If you have used up the 24 guest points, you can buy more guest points.
Can I let my friend use my DC card or transfer my meal points to my friend's DC card?
No. Your meal plan is for you only.
What happens if I have extra points left at the end of the semester?
It is up to you how you spend your points. There is a meal credit budget chart posted on the bulletin board that indicates what your remaining point's balance should be.
How do I change my meal plan?
Check with the manager at the Housing Office and file an application to change meal plan.
Can I buy more points?
Yes, go to the meal card office to add more points to your DC card.
Can I take any food out of the Dining Commons?
No food is allowed to leave DC with the exception of a piece of fruit or coffee in your coffee mug.
What if I can't make a meal?
We also offer sack lunches that must be ordered one day in advance at a cost of 4 points.
